Volume 10 List of Chapters

Vol 10 of the novel, story by Yūma Midori, art by Laruha

Below is the list of chapters for the Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi novel Volume 10 as something to anticipate in the future. I will add links to my translations for Vol 10 whenever I finish each chapter/section.

Volume  title: あやかしお宿に帰りましょう

“Let’s Go Home to the Inn for the Spirits”

Short spoilers: 

“This evening, I will marry into the ayakashi inn.” The conclusion to Aoi’s narrative*. 

The Hachiyō dinner meeting has finally begun. Having faced the truth about Ōdanna and her own feelings, Aoi ran about the capital Yōto to acquire an ally to rescue Ōdanna. Once there, she turned to Zakuro, a Hachiyō from the Great Lake Skewer Confectionery**, who once dismissed Aoi’s cooking. 

Description: 

In exchange for her homemade bentō, Aoi discovered the truth about Ōdanna, which heretofore had been kept a secret. Together with her Tenjin-ya friends, Aoi head for the decisive battleground of Yōto to personally rescue the captured Ōdanna. The Hachiyō dinner meeting has finally begun. Raijū’s plot to propose to seal Ōdanna underground is accepted. Friends are running around Yōto to find an ally to overturn the vote. Also, Aoi challenges Zakuro, the Hachiyō from the Great Lake Skewer Confectionery (who once dissed her cooking) to a sweets making competition… so that she can once again deliver the “first bentō” to Ōdanna and also to declare her own feelings to him.

Translation note:

*Oni ni Kanabō (鬼に金棒) is an idiom which literally means “making someone even stronger” or “invincible”. Its literal meaning is “giving a metal rod to an oni”. I haven’t read the chapter, hence I cannot fathom its context. It’s also possible that the oni is an allusion to Ōdanna-sama. However, once you read Vol 9 Ch 6, you would understand that this chapter can also mean something else for Ōdanna. Interestingly, “kanabō hiki” actually means “a gossip” or a “night watchman”, thus also related to what happens to Ōdanna in Vol 9 Ch 6. Hence, my translation of this chapter is tentative and I might change it later when I understand more about Vol 10 Chapter 1.
