Season Two Ep 12 (FINAL) stills

Ōgondōji-sama o-nariiiiiii!!!

 

The final episode (Ep 12) stills are out and.... we have Ōgondōji-samaaaaaa!!!! Which means that Ep 12 ends with Vol 8 Epilogue aaaand, we should have Ōdanna-sama as well!!! Oh, and I was wrong about the strawberry snack, and I should've seen it from Vol 8 cover, but doesn't matter!

 The Kakuriyo Anime has this info:

氷狼から逃れた葵と銀次だったが、猛吹雪の中で力尽きてしまう。 大旦那の温もりを感じながら葵が目を覚ますと、そこは雪の中で暮らすあやかしたちの住処だった。 そこで作った料理が導きとなり、窮地を切り抜けるひと匙の光が差し込む。 葵の胸には確かな決意が芽生え、その想いに導かれるように物語は次なる扉へと進む――。

Aoi and Ginji escape from the ice wolves, but are exhausted in the blizzard. Feeling the warmth of Ōdanna-sama, Aoi wakes up to find herself in the home of ayakashi spirits living amidst the snow. The food she makes there provides guidance, and a ray of hope shines through to help her out of this predicament. A firm resolve grows in Aoi's heart, and as if guided by that feeling, the story moves on to the next chapter.

So, we will have Ōdanna-sama in Ep 12 then, even 'just' in Aoi's memory! Yay! 

(Except if the visual is bad... which I won't discount... but Ōgondōji-sama looks so gorgeous there, so I am hoping against hope that Ōdanna-sama's visual will be gorgeous too...)

Ahem. 

Let's go through the visuals one by one.

 

 

First, we have Ginji unconscious after the ordeal with the ice wolves (but he will wake up soon, so don't worry!). I take it that - since O-Ryō wasn't mentioned in the summary above - Ginji will arrive to rescue Aoi - I mean, prevent Aoi from making a hotpot out of the ice wolves. Then the duo will fall off the cliff... and got rescued by the little snow people.

 

 

Can I have one of these cuties for Christmas please?

Then, I take it that O-Ryō found Ginji and Aoi (or both of them found her), but anyway, the rikodake mushroom is found, and then it saves little Kasuga's life!

 Yaaaayyy!!!

 

Then we get to the strawberry snack for Kasuga... which I thought would be the Japanese strawberry shortcake with genoise sponge cake, but I was wrong! 

 

It is strawberry daifuku!!! 

Duh! Kasuga was practically eating it in the Vol 8 cover!

 

Anyways, moving on... we have Kiyo fighting (literally) against something, or someone - the real culprit behind the shooting etc, I guess. He looks strong and determined here, just like how a Hachiyō should be.

 

 

Then  a very happy trio...

 

 And O-Ryō pinching Kasuga's cheek as an affectionate gesture...

 

And creme de la creme, back to the cover girl of the episode, i.e.,  Ōgondōji-sama.

 

 

Since the background behind the blond zashiki warashi is a rose garden, I think this is not in the North. Which means that this is in the Northwestern Land, the Literature Land (Bunmon). Which means, Ōgondōji-sama is looking at none other than... Ōdanna-sama!!!

Now, the mystery of whether Vol 8 Epilogue is covered in Ep 12 is answered now. Another question is how much it is covered. Would Ōdanna-sama be waking up and conversing with his adopted mother, just as Ep 12 ending, so that we can hear Konishi Katsuyuki's gorgeous voice?

Or... would we go even further, where Ōdanna-sama is reading the newspapers (and eating dorayaki) while Ōgondōji-sama disappears to pick up Aoi?

Or... would we just hear Ōgondōji-sama calling her adopted son's name, and thus we cannot hear Konishi-san's dreamy voice?

Considering how gentle Ōgondōji-sama's gaze here (when did we EVER see her looking this gentle??), I think she's looking at an awake (albeit fuzzy) Ōdanna-sama. Since in Vol 8 Epilogue Ōdanna-sama started eating the dorayaki first before reading the newspaper, and Ōgondōji-sama left just as the Master read through the newspaper, I think we will have the whole suite of Vol 8 Epilogue as the epilogue of Ep 12. Don't be surprised if it's an after-credit scene (it would be nice if it's an after-credit!).

But I guess we will just have to wait for Wednesday/Thursday to find out!
