Season Two episode predictions

Image
At least Kakuriyo is promoted at the Crunchyroll main banner during the first half of the week! Because how fast Season Two is cruising now, it’s clear now we will only have one cour (but I hope we will have two opening themes to set the tone for the latter half of the cour). Thus we only have a maximum of nine more episodes if we are going with 13 episodes. If we’re going with 12 episodes, then we only have eight more episodes… Thus, I thought it’s useful to predict the arrangement of the remaining episodes for Season Two so that we can at least hope for some congruent storyline. Again, this is just my prediction, and I may totally be wrong. I am assuming we will have only 12 episodes in total, because this production team skimps so much. Below is my educated guess on the remaining Season Two episodes. Use it just as a guidance, please. Ep 5: Aoi feeding Takechiyo-sama, Aoi and Sasuke-kun shopping for macaroon ingredient at downtown Yōto, and Aoi was spirited away to the ancient ceme...

Season Two Ep 4 review

Ep 4 is out, and while (as expected) we don’t have Ōdanna-sama, we have a lot of development here. Well, it’s to be expected because this episode combines Vol 6 Ch 10 , Vol 7 Ch 1 ( here and here ), Vol 7 Ch 2 and a part of Vol 7 Ch 3 …  Again, I am basically a broken record now for saying that I don't like the speed for we lost a lot of details, but it also means that we’ll see Ōdanna-sama again soon .   Now, I usually jump right into Ōdannaoi (Ōdanna-sama & Aoi) scenes, but since the gorgeous oni isn’t here (well, he’s in jail…), let’s go chronologically this time. Ep 4 picks up where Ep 3 left behind, with Raijū announcing that he’d be the new master of Tenjin-ya. However, his glee wasn’t long-lived, for Byakuya delivered a full kick that sent the Thunder Beast tumbling down the stairs. Our hero Byakuya then told the intruder Raijū that the King’s consent isn’t enough to change the leadership of Tenjin-ya. Since Tenjin-ya is the governing place of a Hachiyō, a majority...

Season Two Ep 3 review (a.k.a. The First Kiss!)

Image
The First Kiss!!! Ep 3 is out, and it seems viewers in Australia can see it early in the morning of Thursday (I saw it at 6 am AEST, at least). As I hoped, we do have THE FIRST KISS in Ep 3 (as taken from Vol 6 Ch 9 ). However, this episode is a mixed bag for me for technical reasons, including the character animation. I just have to admit that Season One character animation (when it was at its best) was much better (the background animations are gorgeous in both seasons though), but for now, let’s talk about THE FIRST KISS! To watch The First Kiss, you need to watch other scenes first, including Kasuga’s reconciliation with O-Ryō and the former’s departure from Tenjin-ya. Jump a few paragraphs down to read about those other scenes, but meanwhile, I still have beef to address here: What the heck with the pumpkin dish eating animation?! It was so bad that I found it hard to re-watch it! For a start, Ōdanna-sama looks like a child in front of Aoi when the girl was standing behind the cou...

Season Two Ep 2 review

S2E2 is out, and I can declare wholeheartedly that I love it! Yay! After my venting session for S2E1, I am glad to report that I truly love S2E2. Yes, I still regret the fact that the Momiji-gari trip (or the orchard date) was excluded from S2E1, and I think that decision is still a mistake. However, I am glad that the pampas grass and moon viewing scene is on (OMG the animation of the moon and the pampas grass was gorgeous!), complete with Ōdanna-sama’s naked chest… oh and Byakuya’s and Saraku’s as well!     Unfortunately, Ōdanna-sama was not standing on the ground. Instead, he was inside the onsen pool, and thus when Aoi came in with Chiaki-san, the Master didn’t scream and jumped right into the pool. I would’ve loved to see that actioned… But other than that, I do love the build-up of Ōdanna-sama’s and Aoi’s relationship here. I love it that Ōdanna-sama teased Aoi about whether she wanted to skin-dip with him in the onsen, but then specifically asked Byakuya an...

Season Two Ep 1 review

Laruha's poster for Season Two Kakuriyo (now, Laruha definitely knows how to draw a gorgeous Ōdanna-sama!) S2E1 was finally dropped around Thursday 2 Oct morning Australia time (around 9 am). That might’ve still counted as 1 Oct in US time, but I wish that Crunchyroll is clearer about what time zone they’re talking about. Most likely now I will just watch S2 on Thursday evenings then, because I have to work when the episodes air in the morning. Before I discuss S2E1 though, I want to talk about the cour. We are NOT clear on how many cours we will have. Will we have only 12-13 episodes (i.e., one cour), or will we have two cours, totalling around 26 episodes like in S1? Of course I am hoping for two cours, but there. Is. Just. No. Information! I contacted Gonzo via X and no reply either. (prove me wrong, and I will be grateful!) I do think that we may have two cours though, and the reason is the visuals in the Opening Theme. As I said in the previous post, we will have Takech...
